In this first email of three, we are focused on everything communications. At Blerter we understand you need to be able to be highly engaged with your team and importantly they need to able to instantly communicate with you.
We'll be going through everything you need to know about Blerts, Alerts, Groups and Channels - how to manage them, and why they are so valuable to your event.
Let's get started!
Highly engaged event team
Sending a Blert is the best way to get in touch with your team!
Just as the name suggests, a Blert is something you simply want to tell someone - you want to Blert it out! It is a one-way communication from any event crew member to the event organisers.
Alerts ensure that your entire team is engaged, informed and know exactly what is going on in realtime. In contrast, it is outgoing information and a type of communication to every member on Blerter who is checked in to the event. It can simply be something like "Keep up the great work! Only 1 hour to go", or it could be more serious where you want to alert people to evacuate an area.
Channels allow you to break down your event into specific communication groups. From groups of people (ops, volunteers, management), venues or codes - however you need to be able to communicate to the right people at the right time.
Groups are an easy way to mass onboard your team members. You can also invite unknown members that you don't have contact details of onto Blerter via QR codes.
Groups also coincide with channels within Blerter - allowing you to easily add these groups into the right channel with the right permission set.
